Chandigarh, Apr 29 (PTI) Punjab Congress president Amrinder Singh Raja Warring on Wednesday slammed the Aam Aadmi Party, calling its meeting of observers in Jalandhar a desperate attempt to “revive sinking morale within the party cadre”.

“The so-called large-scale meeting of observers in Jalandhar is nothing but a damage-control exercise, coming at a time when the party is facing serious internal turmoil and loss of credibility,” claimed Warring.

The ruling AAP on Wednesday held a meeting of its observers in Jalandhar, describing it as a routine organisational exercise to gather feedback from them.

Warring said, “AAP is trying to create an artificial show of strength but the reality on the ground is very different. People of Punjab have already seen through their false promises and governance failures. No amount of staged meetings can change that.” Taking a swipe, Warring added that the party is now trying to boost the morale of its cadre, which has been deeply affected due to “continuous setbacks and growing dissatisfaction”.

“These are the very workers who stood with them during the 2022 elections and ensured their victory. But after coming to power, AAP sidelined its grassroots workers and rewarded millionaires by sending them to the Rajya Sabha. Now, when those very people are leaving, the party has suddenly remembered its cadre,” he remarked.

He further added, “At this stage, the game is already over for AAP. These kinds of team-building activities and meetings cannot save the party from its declining credibility.” Warring said the recent exits from the Rajya Sabha are only the beginning and more leaders and workers are likely to distance themselves from the party in the coming time.

“The cracks within AAP are widening. What we are witnessing today is just the trailer; the full picture will unfold soon,” he said in a statement.

He claimed that the people of Punjab are now “disillusioned” with AAP’s governance and political approach, and no last-minute mobilisation or internal meetings can restore the trust that has already been lost. PTI CHS KSS KSS
